Jonnys Tacos is a family-run taqueria on South Congress in Austin. We've been feeding the neighborhood and the office crowd breakfast and lunch since 2017, on flour tortillas we press ourselves before the sun is up.

The tortilla

It starts with the tortilla.

Every morning before we open, we mix, ball and press our own flour tortillas. Not delivered, not from a bag. When a tortilla is this fresh it's soft, a little puffed at the edges, and it holds everything you put in it. That's why people tell us the tortillas are the reason they come back.

The salsas

The salsa is our grandmother's. We just make it every day.

The recipes haven't changed since she made them. We make the salsas fresh in the kitchen and put them on the counter for whatever you're eating. If you run out at home, we sell it by the pint so you don't have to.

Our story

Family-run on South Congress since 2017.

Jonnys Tacos has been a family operation from the first morning. We opened in 2017 to serve the people who live and work around us, and we still press the tortillas ourselves and cook the salsas from the recipes our grandmother passed down. It's a small shop with a simple idea: do the same thing well, every day.
